Tim Mills

Tim Mills has been serving as the President and CEO of Electric Research and Manufacturing Cooperative, Inc. (ERMCO) since January 1, 2021. During his leadership, ERMCO has excelled in transformer market production growth while maintaining a reputation for exceptional service and quality. Under his guidance, ERMCO has successfully implemented long-term strategic growth initiatives, including the acquisition of Spire Power Solutions in December 2022. Mills has been instrumental in solidifying ERMCO’s vision of becoming the Most Valued Partner in the utility industry, catering to cooperatives, municipalities, and investor-owned utilities (IOUs).

Throughout his career, Mills has consistently demonstrated his ability to drive transformative growth strategies, build high-performing teams, and deliver outstanding results. His experience spans various industries, having previously led operations and market expansion efforts at major organizations like True Value, HD Supply, Bankers Life, and General Electric. His expertise encompasses revenue management, operational excellence, and analytics, all of which have contributed to his success in helping companies grow while optimizing performance and efficiency.

Mills is recognized for his optimism and his willingness to take calculated risks, especially when it comes to supporting businesses and rural America. He is passionate about challenging the status quo, fostering innovation, and building lasting success. Mills holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University’s College of Business and a Bachelor’s in Management from the United States Air Force Academy, where he was honored as the Outstanding Scholar Athlete and the top graduate from the Management Department. He is married, with five children and five grandchildren.
